How to reset the ILO password on an HP system

Is very simple, to do it.

You only need one file, HPONCFG.exe and a XML file. You can find the HPONCFG.exe inside HP folder in the root of your O.S., or you can download from this link the entire package.

The XML contains this:

<RIBCL VERSION=”2.0″>

<LOGIN USER_LOGIN=”Administrator” PASSWORD=”password”>

  <USER_INFO MODE=”write”>

   <MOD_USER USER_LOGIN=”Administrator”>

    <PASSWORD value=”newpassforuser”/>

   </MOD_USER>

  </USER_INFO>

</LOGIN>

</RIBCL>

You go to the command prompt and type in:

HPONCFG.exe /f resetpassword.xml /l log.txt > OutputLog.txt

Review the output files.
